Lapis Lazuli

For Ubikwist Magazine

For centuries the deepest blue was the costliest color on earth. Lapis lazuli, ground into pigment, was worth more than gold and reserved for the robes of saints and royalty. This story borrows that reverence and aims it somewhere it rarely lands: Black love.

Shot by Vegas Giovanni for Ubikwist Magazine, the series builds itself around that blue and photographs Yabi and Yeraldin with the gravity usually saved for the stone. The chemistry between them is the casting, and it needed no direction.

The rarest blue, given to the rarest thing. Black love, in the color it always deserved.
